Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior Hydration Gel Review

Kate Somerville is known for having effective products, hence why they are so expensive. Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior Hydration Gel claims to not only help plump out your skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but it also hydrates the skin.

How To Apply Wrinkle Warrior Hydration Gel

To apply this Kate Somerville product, simply dip your fingers into the product to get a pea sized amount on your fingertip. Gently massage it into the skin to create a thin, even layer.

Keep in mind that this is a water based product, which means that a little bit is going to go a long way. If you apply too much, it will make your face look like an oil slick. Makeup will not stay throughout the day. If you’re new to water based skin care products, consider using it on a day off to make sure that your makeup will still look flawless at the end of the workday.

Pros Vs. Cons Of Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior

Pros

Very Moisturizing

When my skin is extremely dry, this works wonders. It doesn’t make my sensitive skin feel irritated or dry it out. Instead, it actually makes my skin feel better.

Works Well For Oily Skin

It’s hard to find any product that can work exceptionally well for both dry and oily skin, but this one does it perfectly. Your dry areas will be hydrated. Oily patches will not look more oily as the day goes on. Instead, it helps you achieve a perfect balance.

Helps Smooth Out Wrinkles

I wish I would have taken a before picture so you could see the difference. (I’m going to find one online for you, though.) Before using this product, I had fine lines in the center of my forehead. I’m 35 and these are my first signs of wrinkles. After using Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior every night (I only use it once daily) I’ve noticed a significant decrease in their appearance. Keep in mind that you have to use it continuously to get this effect. It’s not going to make them disappear over night.

Fast Absorption

While you can always slather on your skincare products and let them absorb together, this isn’t recommended. Using more than one product can involve waiting on them to be absorbed into the skin before applying the next. Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior absorbs quickly so you can move on with your skincare routine.

Cons

It Smells Like Medicine

I always smell makeup and skincare before I put it on my face. I have a hard time using it if they smell horrible. This product doesn’t smell bad, but it doesn’t smell good either. It reminds me of medicine. That makes sense being that Kate Somerville combines medicine and skincare, but I’m not a huge fan of the smell. Thankfully, it doesn’t make your face smell like medicine for hours. It does fade away.

Price

On the one hand, this product works amazingly well. However, you’re going to pay a pretty price for it. A 1.7 fluid ounce jar of this wrinkle cream is almost $90 at Ulta. I’ve seen it on sale at Walmart for almost $40, but it usually sells out fast online once they do get it back in stock. That’s still a little on the expensive side.

Can Cause Irritation

I have sensitive skin and had no problems with this product. However, there are a few people that had minor skin irritation when they used it. Make sure that you conduct a test on part of your skin to make sure that no irritation occurs before using this wrinkle cream.

FAQ

Is Kate Somerville Cruelty Free?

Yes! Kate Somerville is certified through PETA as a cruelty free brand. That means that they do not test on animals to make sure that their products are safe for you to use. Instead, they use ingredients that are backed by science. They don’t even sell their products where they will be tested on animals.

Are Kate Somerville Products Vegan?

Some products are vegan, but others are not. Kate Somerville is not considered a vegan brand. To determine if a product is vegan, you’ll have to carefully read the ingredients yourself.

When Should I Apply Wrinkle Cream?

For maximum effect, apply it once in the morning and once during your nightly skincare routine. Make sure that it’s entirely absorbed before applying other products. Apply wrinkle cream before your moisturizer. Moisturizer always goes on last because it is the thickest.

In Conclusion

Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior Hydration Gel is expensive, but it works. If you can find a jar on sale, it’s definitely worth giving it a shot to combat wrinkles and improve the overall appearance of your skin. You can pick it up here!
