Dermablend Leg and Body Makeup are like a foundation but specially formulated for your body. Body makeup is designed to help you cover just about anything, from stretch marks and varicose veins to tattoos. As I have quite a few things going on, including stretch marks, veins, a tattoo I’m no longer fond of, and a red rash that pops up whenever I eat gluten, I was interested in this. For $40, you get a large bottle of product, too!

Dermablend Leg & Body Makeup
Dermablend Leg & Body Makeup is advertised as suitable for all skin types. It provides full coverage and is supposed to last all day. You’ll get it in a squeezable tube, and each tube currently has about 100 ml of product. That’s a beautiful value considering that foundation bottles usually only have 30 ml of product.
Is Dermablend Leg And Body Makeup Waterproof
No, it is not waterproof. It is slightly water resistant. That means your makeup won’t all run off if it sprinkles a tiny bit. However, more water than that will result in your body makeup coming off. If you’re searching for waterproof leg and body makeup, check out Westmore Beauty Body Coverage.
Will Dermablend Rub Off On Clothes
Yes, Dermablend will rub off on clothes as the day goes on if you wear it alone. If you want hours of wear without it rubbing off, use a setting powder over your Dermablend body makeup. The Dermablend website says to use Dermablend setting powder, but any setting powder you usually use will work fine. I used By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder, and it worked like a dream.
How To Apply Dermablend Body Makeup
You don’t need a primer to use Dermablend Body Makeup. The only time you do is if you want to cover a more sunken scar. In that case, you would apply a filler to ensure the skin is even or a primer that can fill in the area.
After that, squirt some of this makeup on the back of your hand. You can also put dots of it on the area you want to cover, just like you might do with the foundation. Then, use a brush or beauty blender to spread the product evenly over the skin. Make sure you apply it evenly and only use a little bit at a time to avoid applying too much body makeup.
After that, you can blot away excess with blotting paper or toilet paper if you accidentally applied too much.
Let the product sit for 5-10 minutes. If you’re satisfied with the coverage, apply a thin layer of loose setting powder to make it transfer-resistant. If not, add additional layers to conceal imperfections.
Does Dermablend Liquid Body Foundation Cover Tattoos
Yes, it does cover tattoos, but there’s a catch. You see, I have a black and yellow tattoo on the back of my right shoulder that I used this on. It covered the yellow like a dream. The black still showed through, even with a few Dermablend Leg and Body Foundation layers.
If you want to cover tattoos with darker pigments, use a color correcter before applying this makeup. To know which color to use, refer to a color wheel. Colors that are at opposite places on the color wheel neutralize each other. For example, yellow neutralizes purple, and green neutralizes red. For black, use an orange color corrector.
Another method is to apply layer after layer until the tattoo is covered. The layers have to be very thin. Apply a layer of body foundation and then a thin layer of setting powder. Then, continue adding layers of body foundation and setting powder to achieve the coverage you want.
Dermablend Leg And Body Makeup For Stretch Marks
When I applied this to my stretch marks, it looked amazing! I did not have to use a filler to make the skin perfectly even or do anything other than apply Dermablend Leg and Body Makeup with some setting powder. By the end of the day, it didn’t settle into the stretch marks. Instead, it lasted all day with fantastic coverage. That mainly applied to ones that were sunken in, though.
However, you can still see the raised stretch marks up close. This body foundation isn’t working miracles to ensure that your skin is all an even depth. Keep that in mind when using it on stretch marks or scars. (It didn’t occur to me until I was using Dermablend body foundation, even though it makes sense.)
Dermablend Body Foundation For Redness
Concerning covering redness, this body makeup tends to outshine many other products. I didn’t need a color corrector or any other product under this makeup. I tend to get a red and blotchy rash all over my upper arms and in the middle of my chest when I eat gluten. Sometimes it almost looks like I get acne breakouts on my chest, minus the actual pimples. This product covers redness flawlessly.
Dermablend Leg And Body Foundation For Varicose Veins
Part of those spots on my legs are just them being red and blotchy, but there are some varicose veins as well.
It covers varicose veins as flawlessly as it does other things. Depending on how dark your veins are, you might have to use more than one layer. However, this product is designed to give you buildable coverage, which isn’t a huge issue. The result is that your legs will have a uniform appearance.
Is It A Good Makeup For Dark Spots
Dermablend Leg & Body Makeup can be good for dark spots, but it depends on how dark the spots are. If a few layers of this makeup don’t cover dark spots, you’ll need to use a color corrector under the makeup.
Use a color wheel as a guide. If you have brown spots, like dark age spots or freckles, the color of the color corrector that you need to use depends on your skin tone. For fair skin tones, pinkish color correctors will usually work. For medium or dark skin tones, try an apricot color corrector.
Dermablend Leg And Body Makeup Pros Vs. Cons
When it comes to Dermablend Leg and Body Makeup, there are several good things, bad things, and just a few that you need to know. While I think it’s a great product, you must consider all the pros and cons when deciding if it’s right for you.
Suitable For All Skin Types
This buildable body foundation will work for you whether you have combination, dry, or oily skin. It also works for normal skin. That means you can use it on any part of your body without worrying.
Slightly Matte Finish
It’s not a dewy finish, but it’s not a matte finish. Instead, the finish is in the middle, making it a perfect match for the rest of your skin.
Smudge And Transfer-Resistant
When you combine this body makeup foundation with setting powder, you can trust that it’s not going anywhere. You can quickly run your fingers across the smooth finish, which won’t transfer onto your hand.
Hydrates All Day Long
If you have dry skin, this product will be a dream come true. It provides intense hydration all day, so you don’t need to use a lotion throughout the day.
The blendable body foundation formula is specially formulated to give your skin what it needs, so you don’t have to use multiple other products. It helps hydrate your skin and then protects it with SPF 25.
Lasts For Hours
This body foundation lasts for hours upon hours. Then, it lasts a little longer. You do not need to worry about it wearing off midday.
This product lives up to its claims of covering redness, tattoos, scars, veins, and everything else. You might need an extra layer, but it’ll still cover it.
It doesn’t Crack Or Crease
One of my biggest concerns about wearing layers of makeup is that it will crack as the day goes on and start to flake off layer by layer or crease. That didn’t happen with this body makeup at all. Instead, it stayed perfectly in place all day long.
Nice Sized Bottle
For around $40, you get so much product that you can use it repeatedly without reaching the end of the tube. When you think about how much foundation you get in a bottle, you can’t help but appreciate how much body makeup you get in one tube.
Perfect For Evening Skin Tone
If you have uneven skin all over most of your body as I do, you know that it can make you feel self-conscious. That’s where Dermablend Leg and Body Makeup saves the day. It makes your skin tone even so you can confidently wear a dress or lowcut shirt.
It Smells A Little Like Sunscreen In The Beginning
When I first applied this product, it had the faint smell of sunscreen. That makes sense because it has an SPF, but I wasn’t a huge fan. Fortunately, the smell fades away.
Setting Powder Is A Must
While the foundation itself is impressive, you do need to pick up setting powder if you don’t already have some. This is the only way it doesn’t transfer onto your clothes or other skin.
If you need body makeup for a day at the beach, this is not it. It lasts all day but won’t hold up in the water all day. Instead, try waterproof body makeup.
If you need a good body foundation to cover up a few imperfections, or many imperfections, Dermablend Body and Leg makeup is a fantastic choice. It lives up to the claims made by the company, too. Just remember to use setting powder to enjoy transfer-resistant coverage.
When shopping, you must get a tone that matches your natural skin tone. Working with the Dermablend team can help you find the best shade to suit your skin tone.
