Milani Fruit Fetish Lip Oil Review

Milani is known for providing high-quality products that are always readily available. You can find them online, at stores like Walmart, or your favorite makeup stores like Ulta. They aren’t as cheap as E.L.F. but aren’t as expensive as Dior Lip Oil. They’ve managed to create the perfect balance of everything we love. Their lip oils are some of their hottest products. Let’s find out what the hype is about with this Milani Fruit Fetish Lip Oil Review.

Key Features

Everyone loves Milani Fruit Fetish Lip Oils. The company advertises that they are never sticky, and based on my experience, that’s true. There are a few other key features and ingredients to note.

  • Moisturizing: These lip oils deliver intense moisture when you need it most. They can help your chapped lips, especially if you apply them at night before bed. A unique combination of oils and Vitamin E helps instantly hydrate your lips.
  • Glossy: If you love the look of lip gloss, these lip oils were designed with you in mind. They give you the hydration of a lip oil with the look of a lip gloss.
  • Not sticky or too slick: There are so many dupe lip oils on the market, it can be hard to keep track of them all. Many companies started using olive oil as a base, which makes the formula too slick and oily. Others have a sticky formula, or one that leaves a sticky residue. Milani Fruit Fetish Lip Oils nailed the formula to ensure it’s comfortable all day.

Milani states this product is cruelty-free, vegan, and made in the United States.

Ingredients

The ingredients vary depending on the flavor/scent you choose. The website has a complete ingredient list.

How To Use

Apply to the lips alone or wear it over lipstick for a glossy appearance. If you have dry lips, re-apply throughout the day as necessary.

Pros

Moisturizing

Other companies claim to provide moisturizing lip oils, but this one actually does. The formula is packed with nourishing ingredients to help soothe and moisturize your lips throughout the day. You’ll instantly notice a difference in your dry, chapped lips.

Fills In Cracks

Milani Fruit Fetish Lip Oil doesn’t just sit on top of dead skin. It slowly sinks into your lips, filling in cracks for a more even appearance and hydrating every tiny part of your lips for the ultimate hydrating effect.

Protection

The lip gloss sits on top of your lips to help protect them against harsh winter air. However, you must reapply it as necessary to enjoy this effect all day. The website doesn’t state this as a benefit, but I noticed it while trying these out.

Heavenly Scents

All of the Fruit Fetish lip oils have unbelievably gorgeous scents. You can pick up your favorite fruit scents like black cherry vanilla, strawberry melon, or raspberry peach. This is one of Milani’s hottest products, so they come out with new scents occasionally. The scent is mild, so it’s not overwhelming when you apply it.

Subtle Color

This doesn’t pack pigment like liquid lipstick does. Instead, you get a subtle hint of color similar to a sheer lip gloss. It’s the perfect pigment to wear at home, a night out, or even at the office. However, remember that the black cherry is a little more black than the cherry.

Cons

Oddly Shaped Applicator

This isn’t a deal breaker, but I’m not a fan of it. You have to dip the applicator into the lip oil a few times to apply it to your lips because it isn’t completely covered when you pull it out. It looks plush in the pictures but doesn’t apply lip oil like a plush applicator.

Not A Lip Tint

Many lip oils today leave a stain behind so you can enjoy a little bit of tint all day. That’s not the case with Milani Fruit Fetish Oils. Instead, the color wears off when the lip oil does, just like lip gloss.

Fragrance

Whether the scent is a downside boils down to personal preference. I think it’s heavenly. However, if you don’t like fragrance or fruit scents, don’t buy this lip oil. You will smell it until the lip oil slowly wears away throughout the day. Instead, try a non-scented or lightly-scented lip oil.

Glitter

I’m not a huge fan of the glitter in the one I bought. If I would have seen that on the website or any reviews, I wouldn’t have bought it. Again, though, this boils down to personal preference. If you love a little sparkle, you’ll love it. However, I didn’t toss it in the trash. I kept it for nighttime to keep my lips hydrated and prevent chapped lips. I don’t know if this applies to all of them or just this one, but I don’t plan on buying more to find out.

Should You Buy It?

It’s worth a shot if you love things with a fruit fragrance. The main thing I didn’t like about this lip oil was that it doesn’t last as long as others I’ve tried, and the glitter. You must reapply it throughout the day like lip balm or Chapstick. On the other hand, it’s not like having to reapply is a complete deal breaker. You can’t beat it for the price, either.
