About IN Common Beauty

IN Common Beauty was founded by two hairstylists: Nikki Lee and Riawna Capri. They launched their first product line in 2018, partnering with Luxury Brand Partners to create the brand we know and love today.

Over time, they’ve partnered with multiple brands or celebrities to increase media exposure, including Scott Disick. They partnered in 2021 to create content, increase engagement, and develop new products.

Scott Disick isn’t the only celebrity who’s a fan of the brand. Other celebrities who have been seen using the brand or said they liked it include Selena Gomez, Hilary Duff, and Emma Roberts.

The “skincare for hair care” approach signifies the importance of clean ingredients to the brand. IN Common Beauty focuses on providing ingredients that are effective yet don’t damage your hair. You’ll discover ingredients that help repair, hydrate, and nourish your locks. Some products can help you achieve instant results.

Inclusivity

There are products designed for every hair type and texture. The brand encourages everyone to be accepting of individuality and authentic. It’s refreshing to see a brand that sees you for you instead of trying to force you to change your hair or personal style.

Cruelty-Free Status

IN Common Beauty states on the website that they do not perform or facilitate animal-testing on any of the products. It states that, to their knowledge, suppliers do not test on animals. However, that could mean that the suppliers test on animals and the brand doesn’t know.

It is not currently certified by a third-party, such as PETA or the Leaping Bunny program, as cruelty-free.

Vegan Status

The brand is not considered vegan. There are silk amino acids in many of the products, which come from silkworms. The company does state that these are ethically sourced. The website states that the products are “vegetarian” but they are not “vegan.”
