ELF Eyeliner Pen Pros Vs. Cons
Pros
e.l.f. Is Nice To Animals
All products from ELF Cosmetics are vegan and cruelty-free!
Pigmented
This eyeliner pen had a deep, brown pigment. I only got the coffee color, but I was genuinely impressed! It had so much pigment I didn’t have to go over it after the initial line.
Perfect For On The Go
The elf eyeliner pen dries so quickly that it’s perfect for those moments when you’re on the go. Not only is it a quick-drying eyeliner, but it’s also smudge-proof, waterproof, and easy to apply. A few swipes of color, and you’re good to go!
Perfect Consistency
I’ve had so many eyeliners over the years that it’s ridiculous. Many of them wind up being too watery or so thick that they’re a nightmare. That wasn’t a problem with this one, though. It was the perfect consistency to glide on nice and smooth.
Easy Application
ELF eyeliner is for you if you’re struggling to make a wing with your eyeliner. The felt tip isn’t too flexible, but it’s not rigid. It has the perfect flexibility to make it easy to swipe it across the lid to create a flawless wing.
Doesn’t Transfer Easily
If you have hooded eyelids, this is a great eyeliner to wear. It doesn’t transfer easily. You can keep your eyes closed until it dries, and you’re good to go.
No Tugging
The eyeliner pen easily glides across your lids. It’s so smooth that it doesn’t tug on your eyelid. You can barely feel it on your face when you make a wing.
Nice Finish
The eyeliner has a satin finish, but it’s not too glossy. Instead, it’s the perfect balance to create a look that you’re going to love.
Affordable
As with all e.l.f. products, this eyeliner is extremely affordable. You can find it everywhere, from drugstores to makeup stores like Ulta. Keep in mind that the price will vary depending on where you are.
Cons
Not As Waterproof As Advertised
While the website states that this eyeliner is waterproof, it will not hold up in a downpour. However, it can withstand a few tears without running down your face. Remember that it’s not waterproof enough to wear to the beach or during rainy weather. The eyeliner washes off so easily that you must keep the weather in mind when wearing it.
Smudges As The Day Goes On
This eyeliner was like a dream come true during the application process. However, it doesn’t hold up all day. As the day continues, you cannot help but notice some smudging. If you wear it on your bottom lid, you wind up with raccoon eyes before you leave the office. Setting spray helps but doesn’t completely solve the problem.
Melts Off In Hot Weather
It’s great that this eyeliner can hold up for a bit, but that depends on the weather. Just like this one isn’t going to hold up during a lot of rain, it’s also going to melt off during hot and humid weather. If you’re in the middle of a heatwave, it’s best to stick with other types of eyeliner.
In Conclusion

This isn’t a bad eyeliner pen, but it’s not the best. If you want to give it a shot, it’s worth it. The price point isn’t bad, and it’s excellent for beginners. You can check it out here!
