Morphe Continuous Setting Mist Review

morphe setting mist

Morphe is always a favorite brand. They get canceled, and then they’re back on top. Their products are always on vanities. One of their more popular products is Morphe setting spray.

I participate in affiliate programs, including Amazon Affiliates, and may earn a small commission if products are purchased through links on the site.

They have a complete line of products in the setting spray category, complete with every finish you can imagine. They have it if you’re searching for a dewy finish or mattifying setting mist. I’d never used a continuous setting spray until I picked up the Morphe Continuous Setting Mist.

How Do You Use Morphe Continuous Mist

Unlike other settings sprays, this one is in an aerosol can. Because of that, you don’t have to spritz it onto your face one spritz at a time. Instead, you hold down the button on top and move it across your face, just like you would use hairspray for your hair. It’s like a breath of fresh air when you’ve grown accustomed to applying setting spray one spritz at a time.

Even Application

When you spritz setting spray onto your face, you’ll notice a burst of setting spray in the middle, and it’s dryer around the edges of that circle. You have to use more setting spray around the edges to ensure your face is completely coated in setting spray.

That isn’t the case with Morphe Continuous Setting Mist. Instead, you receive an entirely even coating all over your skin, provided you keep the bottle moving across your face.

It’s Great For All Skin Types

This setting mist works well for my oily spots as well as my dry spots. People with acne-prone skin are leaving rave reviews about it. I have sensitive skin, and it did not cause a single reaction. Regardless of your skin type, you can trust that this setting spray will likely work for you.

Flawless Application

When you apply this setting spray it goes on in a fine mist. The only way to accidentally apply too much is to hold the bottle in one spot on your face and intentionally put more of the product there.

After application of the Morphe Continuous Setting Spray, you’ll notice that there isn’t a greasy film on your face. It doesn’t make your face too dewy, but it does make it look radiant. The product doesn’t feel heavy on your face. You can barely tell that you’re wearing it.

After applying it, you don’t have to wait long for it to dry. It dries within a minute if you apply a quick coat of setting spray.

If you have yet to jump on the Morphe train, it’s a brand worth checking out. Not only are the products great, but they are affordable. You can pick up a bottle of this setting spray for under $20. You’ll find that everything from their eyeshadow pallets to their settings sprays is affordable. They are also available in minis if you want to try them before committing to a full-size bottle.

Limited Availability

If you’re wondering where can I buy Morphe, you’re not alone. That’s because you cannot find this brand anywhere. It’s currently sold at Ulta and on the Morphe website. It is not available in stores like Target. You can pick up a bottle on Amazon, but the Morphe products on Amazon are overpriced compared to the Morphe price at Ulta and on the Morphe website.

Did Not Hold My Eyeliner In Place

A fine mist of this setting spray held everything on my face in place except for my eyeliner. I tried using an eyeliner that wasn’t smudge-proof or waterproof. I hoped this setting spray would help it stay in place, but it did not.

Strong Smell

It does have a perfume-like smell to it. I appreciated it and enjoyed it. However, that might not be for you. Consider whether this would bother you before using this setting spray.

Chance Of Allergic Reaction

On the one hand, there is a chance of an allergic reaction every time you use a new product. That’s why it’s recommended that people only try one new product at a time. However, I’ve read many reviews about this product making people break out in hives or have breakouts that last for days.

If you’re concerned about this, you should do a test spot on your face so that you won’t have hives and acne all over your face. You should also double-check the Morphe website for a complete list of ingredients.

Is Morphe continuous setting mist waterproof?

It holds up as well as any other setting spray in water. Morphe Continuous Setting Mist can hold up in the humidity but won’t last in a downpour. This isn’t one to wear for a day at the beach.

Is morphe cruelty free?

They say they are but have no certifications from organizations like PETA. They also state that they, as a company, do not test products or ingredients on animals or condone other companies testing their products on animals.

Their website clearly states, “Morphe does not condone animal testing in any way. We do not test any of our products on animals. We also do not test any of our ingredients on animals, nor do we allow our manufacturers to do so on our behalf. Instead, we choose to test drive our products on people (with their permission, of course).”

However, they never state that their ingredients are not tested on animals via a third-party supplier. The people who are manufacturing their products are not testing on animals, but what about before they purchase the ingredients? Their answers are relatively vague as well.

Is Morphe vegan?

The brand itself is not vegan. However, they do offer several vegan products. They also offer a vegan collection page to make it easier to find vegan Morphe products on their website.

Are Morphe products gluten free?

Morphe products are not designed to be gluten-free, and it’s a task to find the ones that are. You have to individually read every ingredient list for products you’re interested in.

Is Morphe sold in mainland China?

No, they are not. Although they used to be, they no longer are. Older blogs still state that Morphe products are sold in China, so it’s essential to check the date before determining whether the information is accurate.

Why is Morphe so cheap?

Morphe has quite a few factors that help them produce cheaper makeup. First, they manufacture some products in China to cut labor costs. Then, they include ingredients, such as talc, that other companies have omitted. This helps them cut costs as well.

Is Morphe Worth It?

For me, this setting mist is well worth it. I love that it’s in an aerosol can and distributes the product evenly. It works well for the most part. Regarding my eyeliner situation, please note that I have not found a setting spray that holds eyeliner in place. (I need to stick to using my favorite transfer-free eyeliner, but I like trying new things.)

However, if you’re prone to allergic reactions and highly sensitive skin, it might not be worth the risk to you. Urban Decay is another excellent brand with a line of setting sprays on the market. You can find them at Sephora.

You’ll also need to remember their cruelty-free status or lack of if that is important to you. I’d want to see proof that they are buying ingredients tested on animals, but I do question whether they are truly cruelty-free.

Consider that all of their products are not made in the United States if that also matters to you. Regarding their manufacturing, I wouldn’t stock my entire vanity with Morphe, but I don’t mind a new product on occasion. It’s all about balance.
