NYX Matte Setting SprayPros Vs. Cons

Pros
It’s Affordable
As with all NYX products, NYX matte setting spray is affordable. You can pick up a mini version for $4 to try it out, as I did. A medium-sized bottle is around $9, and a jumbo-sized bottle is about $22. (Keep in mind that price may vary depending on location.)
The Viral Car Accident Review
One of the things that helped this setting spray go viral was a review from a woman in a car accident. She states that if a setting spray can get hit by a car and survive, that’s all she needs to know. You can check out the excellent review here!
Balances Oily Skin
NYX Professional Makeup matte setting spray does everything it claims to do. It helps dry out the excess oil but doesn’t leave your skin feeling dry or irritated. Instead, it creates the perfect balance.
Works Like Superglue
After the car accident review, trying this setting spray from NYX Professional Makeup was a must. It left my skin with a matte finish, and my makeup stayed in place literally until I took it off at the end of the day. It’s a must-have to complete your makeup routine.
Didn’t Dry Out My Skin
I have dry patches, especially as fall approaches. Even though this setting spray from NYX Professional Makeup has alcohol, it didn’t dry out my skin or leave it feeling irritated. Instead, my dry skin patches felt fine.
Doesn’t Leave A Weird Residue On Your Face
I’ve tried many products, from setting powders to setting sprays. Some of them feel weird as the goes on. It’s as though they leave a weird residue that feels like a film on your face. There was zero residues from NYX matte setting spray.
Holds Up Through Everything
This setting spray from NYX Professional Makeup holds up during a car accident and is also great for heat and humidity. Give it a shot if you want your eye makeup to stay in place instead of creasing. Need to have fresh makeup while you’re in the heat all day? NYX matte setting spray has got you covered.
Works With Heavy Makeup
Wearing heavy makeup means you need a setting spray to keep your look together. This setting spray held layers of makeup onto my face all day long!
Absorbs Fast
This setting spray absorbs rather quickly. You won’t have to sit in front of a fan waiting on this setting spray to dry before you walk out the door. It’s perfect for everyday wear!
Doesn’t Have A Strong Scent
I was a bit wary about trying this setting spray, as I am with every setting spray that has alcohol. It seems like it’s hit-and-miss. Some are great, and some smell like alcohol so badly that I can’t stand them. Thankfully, this one didn’t smell like alcohol.
It also barely had a fragrance at all, which was also appreciated.
Cons
Slightly Dewy Finish
This is the only downside to this matte finish setting spray. When you buy a matte setting spray, you expect it to have a matte finish. This one doesn’t have a completely matte finish, but it’s not overly dewy, either. For me, it’s a perfect balance. However, if you’re searching for a setting spray that has a solely matte finish, consider Urban Decay’s setting spray line.
In Conclusion

NYX matte setting spray is a drugstore spray that works like more expensive products. It helped my makeup last all day, but remember that I don’t have super oily skin.
If you have super oily skin, pick up a trial size first. Some reviews are from people saying it only lasted five hours because they have oily skin. You can’t beat the price point, so you might as well give it a shot. You can check it out here, and pick up a mini for around $4!
