Harmony Rose Petal Facial Mask by Feel Beauty Review

Feel Beauty is known for its wonderful products, and they claim that this rose petal facial mask is no exception. It’s packed with rose petals, rose essential oils, and rose flower extracts to guarantee that you can enjoy all of the wonderful benefits of using rose skincare products.

I was sick for almost two weeks. It’s left my entire body dehydrated, especially my skin. I’m prone to dry skin regardless, but this last bout of sickness really made everything take a turn for the worse.

That makes this the perfect time to try out all of these wonderful hydrating products that I have thrown in a basket. Harmony Rose Petal Facial Mask is the first one. I was dying to see if it could live up to the claims of being super hydrating by the company and help my dry, itchy skin feel better.

Rose Petal Facial Mask Review

Upon first opening this rose skincare product, you can’t help but notice that it looks like sludge. It reminds you of the gunk you get at the bottom of a trashcan if you don’t clean it regularly and spill things. The smell is nice, though. It does have the scent of roses, which is instantly soothing.

The Appearance is Normal

When rose petals are left to sit in rose skincare products, the end result is the brown color. This only happens when real, natural roses are used. You won’t find this in rose skincare products that use the stem, flower extracts that don’t include petals, or rose essential oils. Because of that, it can catch you off guard just like it did me. I thoroughly researched the color of this product and the reason behind it before I put it on my face. (No one wants to put sludge on their face.) Don’t worry, it goes on with a yellow tint so it doesn’t look as bad as you think it will (minus the brown chunks.)

Application is Easy

To apply this rose face mask, you simply wash your face. Then, apply the face mask, and let it sit for approximately ten minutes. After that, rinse with warm water and pat dry.

I have very sensitive skin, and this didn’t hurt to apply. There was no unpleasant burning, which seems to be a side effect that I get with a lot of facial masks. That was a nice change. I always test a tiny spot on my face before using a product first because of this, but I do still get nervous when it comes time to apply it to my entire face. Rose Petal Facial Mask passed both tests. My sensitive skin loved it.

(It’s worth noting that we all have different skin. Make sure that you test it on a small patch of skin before applying it all over your face, just like I did.)

After Application, My Skin was Very Blotchy

The primary downside was that after I rinsed off the face mask, there were huge red blotches all over my face. I rinsed with barely lukewarm water in the shower, and don’t take very hot showers. The rest of my skin was not blotchy, but my face definitely was. The facial mask was only left on for the recommended ten minutes. This was definitely due to the rose petal face mask.

Thankfully, I did this at night so that I could see how it turned out before having to leave the house. By the time morning came, the blotchiness was gone.

It Was Not Super Hydrating

Excluding when I am sick, I have an amazing skincare routine. I’ve tried plenty of facial masks, especially those that are supposed to be super hydrating. That’s where I really don’t feel like this rose petal face mask lived up to the hype or the claim. My skin feels a tad bit softer in areas that weren’t dry, but that’s it. Throughout the night and the next morning, my skin did not feel any better.

I’m not sure if my expectations were a bit high, but I do believe that if a product claims that it hydrates deeply, it should at least make my dry skin feel better for a brief period of time. This offered no relief except for when it was on my face.

Remember That it is a Toning Gel

While I used this product originally for the purpose of helping to hydrate my skin, it is a toning gel. That means that it will help your face look more toned, which can significantly help with the aging process. When I was taking close-up pictures of the blotches on my forehead, I did notice a few wrinkles. I have developed a few age spots as well.

Because of that, I started using this mask three times a week at night. There was no difference.

The Verdict

Personally, I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy this one. If you have it sitting on your shelf and don’t have extremely dehydrated skin, it could work for you. Keep in mind that it’s similar to any other face mask on the market. This product simply doesn’t live up to the hype that rose skincare products are receiving, and I was really disappointed.

What Should You Use For Dry, Dehydrated Skin?

I was hoping this face mask could be used to help my skin in addition to the other products that I have. While it won’t be, there are still some awesome products that you can use to help keep your skin hydrated. Gel-like face moisturizers tend to help your skin both look better and stay hydrated throughout the day better than others.

You can also pick up some 111Skin cryo-activating moisturizer, serums, and both Murad and Dr. Brandt have exceptional lines of skincare products.

Illamasqua Hydra Veil

This is my go-to moisturizer when my skin is extremely dry. The gel-like formula soaks into your skin without making it appear greasy. It can be a bit expensive, but a little bit of this product goes a long way. One ounce can last you at least a few months with daily application. It also helps soothe your skin if it’s so dry that it feels irritated, burns or itches.

Illamasqua Hydra Veil is actually a primer. However, you can wear it by itself without makeup on top, too. It’s so hydrating that you can use it either way with amazing results.

In Conclusion

The main appeal behind this rose skincare product was its possible ability to be hydrating, and I didn’t get that benefit. It’s not super cleansing. I highly doubt that it has the impact on the aging process that it’s supposed to, either. I would stick with other products, especially if you have dry skin.
