ELF Pure Skin Moisturizer Pros Vs. Cons

Elf pure skin moisturizer review

Pros

Vegan

If you live a vegan lifestyle, this is the perfect moisturizer to complement it! Not only is ELF Pure Skin Moisturizer vegan, but it’s also cruelty-free.

Fragrance-Free

If you have sensitive skin, this is a huge bonus. You won’t have to worry about hidden ingredients causing redness, acne, or anything else!

Affordable

At $12 for a full-size bottle, everyone can afford this! You can also pick up mini versions on the website for a few dollars if you want to try it out before committing to a full-size bottle.

Recommended For All Skin Types

This is a pretty general moisturizer. It’s not designed to do anything aside from moisturizing your skin. However, that makes it a great choice for just about everyone!

Super Lightweight

After this moisturizer absorbs into your skin, you can’t even tell that you’re wearing it! The non-greasy formula doesn’t sit on top of your skin or interfere with makeup application.

Minimizes Pores And Promotes An Even Skin Tone

It has niacinamide in it. This ingredient is well-known for it’s ability to help shrink your pore size. It doesn’t guarantee an even skin tone, but it can help. Niacinamide also delivers powerful antioxidants to your skin to help protect it from things like damage from free radicals.

Absorbs Quickly

This moisturizer absorbs into the skin in mere minutes, helping to create a barrier to lock in moisture.

Cons

Not Great For Severely Dry Skin

While this moisturizer provides intense hydration, it’s not the best for severely dry skin. If you have dry skin worse than moderately dry, ensure that you use a hydrating serum.

No SPF Included

It’s great that this product has so many benefits, but it would be much better if it helped protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun too.

Easy To Apply Too Much

One pump can easily be too much for your skin. If you apply too much, it’s going to leave your skin feeling too tacky, and it’ll feel heavy on your face.

Tacky While It Dries

This isn’t a deal breaker, but it’s a mild inconvenience. The moisturizer feels sticky and tacky until it dries and fully absorbs. It reminds me a bit of the way a sticky gripping primer feels.

Should You Buy It?

It’s worth a shot. It is excellent for every skin type, from oily skin to sensitive skin to combination skin. It creates a clean skin feel that you’ll love. The gel formula is infused with key ingredients like shea butter to ensure your skin is hydrated. Then, ingredients hyaluronic acid help create a barrier to lock in moisture and decrease oil production. This lightweight gel moisturizer is so cheap it’s worth trying, especially if you know someone that wants a minimal skincare routine. You can pick it up here!
